Schjødt advises Ministry of Finance on tax reform
Tax partner Johan Engelschiøn, who is a member of The Norwegian Bar Association's tax committee, is on a panel of experts advising the Ministry in connection with their formal evaluation of the Norwegian tax reform implemented in 2006.
The panel had its first meeting at ministerial level on 18 March. Other members are law professors Frederik Zimmer and Ole Gjems-Onstad, in addition to representatives from employers and trade unions and The Norwegian Institute of Public Accountants. Important topics being discussed are the possible retraction of corporate tax on the distribution of untaxed funds, the easing or replacement of the regulations on taxation of dividends/distributions to individuals and a possible retraction of the 3% tax on dividends and gains otherwise covered by an exemption method for companies. The Bar Association has also requested that the evaluation should include the tax regulations related to earn-out.
