Erik Titlestad Monsen - New partner in Schjødt
We welcome Erik Titlestad Monsen as a new partner in Schjødt!
Erik holds wide experince across large parts of the area of business law, in particular contract law, general and special contract law, general law of obligations, tort law, property law, mortgage law and debt recovery law. In addition, he has special expertise relating to types of claims in the peripheral zone of contract law and tort law, including restitution claims, e.g. repayment of unlawful charges, and monetary sanctions other than claims for damages, e.g. unjust enrichment claims in the field of intellectual property law and marketing law. He also has expert knowledge in legal methodology and legal theory.
Erik was professor at the University of Bergen from 2009 to 2019, with a teaching responsibility related to, inter alia, contract law and legal methodology. He has also been Professor II at the Business School, University of Stavanger. Furthermore, he has experience as a deputy judge, senior lecturer, associate professor, postdoctoral fellow, associate in BAHR (2000-2001) and associate and lawyer in Simonsen Vogt Wiig (2013-2016). He has also been the chief editor of Tidsskrift for Forretningsjus (2011-2016). Erik is a Master's of Law (cand. jur.) from the University of Bergen (1999), and he has a doctorate degree (dr. juris) from the same university in the doctrine of unjust enrichment claims (2006). His scientific production lies in particular in contract law, tort law, legal method and the doctrine of restitution claims and unjust enrichment claims.
