Katrine represents global companies within the oil, offshore and green energy sector. Her main expertise is advising on regulatory and contractual issues, and she has in-depth knowledge of the petroleum legislation, the licence framework and the standard agreements on the Norwegian continental shelf, in particular NF/NTK.
Katrine also works with commercial negotiations and dispute resolution. Before joining Schjødt, she served as senior legal counsel in the Japanese oil company Idemitsu. In Idemitsu, Katrine advised on all aspects of petroleum law, prepared various contracts, participated in negotiations, handled compliance matters, and represented the company in the NOROG Legal Committee. Her previous experience also includes working as senior associate in the law firms Michelet & Co and Arntzen de Besche.
Katrine holds the LLM degree «Oil & Gas Law» from the University of Aberdeen, where she specialised in the subjects «State Control», «Regulation», «Contracting» and «International Investment Arbitration». She wrote her LLM dissertation about «Financial Decommissioning Responsibilities When Assigning Assets in a Mature Jurisdiction with Focus on Smaller Players: A Comparative Study of United Kingdom and Norwegian Law».
