Reidar joined Schjødt as an associate in 2014. He is currently a member of the firm's Oil, Energy & Shipping department, with a special focus on shipping and offshore related issues. Reidar is also a part of the firm's Dispute and M&A departments, and he therefore works within a broad range of business law areas.
Reidar primarily works with commercial contracts related to the offshore and shipping industry, including shipbuilding contracts, and his practice includes both drafting and negotiating such contracts. He also works with dispute resolution, with a primary focus on disputes in relation to contracts.
In addition to his work with contracts and disputes, Reidar also regularly assists on transactions, including transactions relating to the purchase and sale of vessels.
From September 2016 to September 2018, Reidar worked as a deputy judge in Bergen city court.
Reidar holds a Master's degree in law from the University of Bergen, where he specialised in corporate law and labour law. During his study period, he wrote his master thesis on the subject of interest on a non-statutory basis.
