Thomas works in our Trade and Industry group, primarily with intellectual property law (patent, trademark, design and copyright law) and marketing law, as well as dispute resolution.
Thomas holds a master’s degree in law from the University of Bergen, where he also worked as a study group supervisor for first year students while he was a student. Before joining Schjødt, he spent six years working as a lawyer in the law firm Grette and over two years working as a lawyer at Tandbergs Patentkontor AS. He has also been working as a Deputy Judge at Jæren District Court and was appointed as an external board member of the KFIR. Thomas is also an external examiner of elective subjects and master’s theses at the University of Bergen.
Thomas has acted in several cases in the courts of law, both district courts and courts of appeal. In addition, he has substantial experience from prosecuting cases in front of the Norwegian Industrial Property Office (NIPO) and the Board of Appeal for Industrial Property Rights (KFIR). He works with clients within the oil, gas and supply industry; life science, biotech, food and health industries; mechanical industry; fishery and aquaculture; and textile and furniture industry.
