Thomas joined Schjødt in January 2017, and works in the trade and industry group, primarily with intellectual property law (patent, trademark, design and copyright law) and marketing law, as well as dispute resolution and transactions relating to IPR.

He has a Master’s degree in Law from the University of Bergen, where he also worked as a study group supervisor for first year students while he was a student.

Before joining Schjødt, Thomas spent six years working as a lawyer in the law firm Grette, and over two years working as a lawyer at Tandbergs Patentkontor AS. He has also been working as a Deputy Judge at Jæren District Court, and has been an external board member of the Board of Appeal for Industrial Property Rights (KFIR).

Thomas is also an external examiner of elective subjects and Master’s theses at the University of Bergen. He has acted in several cases in the courts of law, both district courts and courts of appeal. In addition, he has substantial experience from prosecuting cases in front of the Norwegian Industrial Property Office (NIPO) and KFIR. 

Thomas works with clients within the oil, gas and supply industry; life science, biotech, food and health industries; mechanical industry; fishery and aquaculture; and textile and furniture industry.
